Back in November 2007, I interviewed George Gallo about his film, Local Color, which is finally being released nationwide by Monterey Media next month. All I have to say, is that the movie is worth the wait and one of the best films I have seen hit movie screens over the past five years.
Local Color is a truly marvelous, artistic, and inspirational motion picture. Writer-Director George Gallo joins me to talk about his journey making a film based on his own life -- and about the passion that it takes to create great art.
The movie's ensemble of terrific actors give us powerful portrayals that convey honest and truly deep feelings on screen -- something rare in movies today. Although the movie's focus is centered around art, it is really a film with a message that says many know they can achieve greatness, and if one follows their passion, one can discover the thread of being that connects you to that potential greatness.
Right now, the film is being released nationwide, so check for openings in your town coming soon by clicking here: Release Schedule. I expect that soon, audiences across America will be charmed by this film that is as much about great art as it is about 'the art of life'.
Leonard Maltin of "Entertainment Tonight" says LOCAL COLOR is "A deeply felt movie about pursuing the passion in your life", and the film has been called "Inspirational," and "Fantastic," by Phoenix Film Critics. Jamie Bernard of the New York Daily News raves this film is for "...anyone who has ever dared to dream." Audiences that have already seen the film have been so emotionally moved, many have returned to see it as many as three times.
